Conference Overview
Join the 2026 Arkansas SWANA Solid Waste Conference in Little Rock for networking, industry insights, and innovation in waste and recycling.
The 2026 Arkansas SWANA Conference marks the return of the Arkansas Chapter’s full multi-day conference for the first time since 2019. From August 5–7, 2026, solid waste and recycling professionals from across Arkansas will gather in Little Rock for three days of education, networking, and industry collaboration.
In addition to educational programming, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in optional conference excursions, including a tour of the Arkansas State Capitol and a trap shooting outing at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex in Jacksonville.

Educational Sessions
Hear from industry experts on topics including advocacy and policy, operational safety and efficiency, environmental impact reduction, and community-focused waste management solutions affecting solid waste and recycling across Arkansas.
Professional Development & Licensing Credit
Attendees will have the opportunity to earn Professional Development Hours (PDHs) applicable toward maintaining SWANA certifications, as well as complete the 6-hour update required by the Arkansas Department of Energy & Environment, Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) for Solid Waste Operator License holders.
Networking Opportunities
Connect with colleagues from across Arkansas and the surrounding region, including public sector leaders, private industry professionals, and partners in environmental services.
Excursions & Special Activities
In addition to educational sessions and networking opportunities, attendees of the 2026 Arkansas SWANA Conference will have the option to participate in special excursions highlighting unique locations in Central Arkansas.
Attendees may select one optional excursion, with sign-up available during conference registration. Transportation to and from each excursion will be provided. An optional box lunch is available for $20 for attendees participating in either excursion. Space may be limited.
Arkansas State Capitol Tour & Legislative Meeting
Explore one of Arkansas’s most historic landmarks with a guided tour of the Arkansas State Capitol and a discussion with state legislators. Participants will gain insight into Arkansas government and the role public policy plays in environmental and solid waste management.
Trap Shooting – AGFF Jacksonville Shooting Sports Complex
Join fellow conference attendees for a trap shooting outing at the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation Shooting Sports Complex in Jacksonville. This excursion offers a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity to connect with colleagues outside of the conference setting.
- Must bring your own shotgun
- One round of skeet/trap will be included along with one box of ammo. Additional rounds and ammo can be purchased at the event if time and availability permits.
